My name is Steve Randon and I've been a photographer for over 20 years now.  I've been operating on the northshore since 1999 and just recently opened my new studio in Mandeville.

Kristen and Kevin’s Wedding

Kristen and Kevin’s wedding day took place on May 15, 2009 at the Bourbon Orleans Hotel in the French Quarter.  The ceremony was very intimate in the courtyard of the hotel where family and close friends came from out of town to be part of their wedding day.  Being from out of town, the bride and groom were determined to be photographed walking around the French Quarter after the ceremony, which is always fun for me.  They were very comfortable in front of the camera and enjoyed every minute of our post ceremony photo shoot.  It was awesome watching pedestrians treat Kristen and Kevin like movie stars, stopping traffic for us as well as inviting us up onto a private balcony for photo ops. The cake was like something I’ve never seen before.  Kevin told me the name of it…something french..anyway check it out!  The night ended with all attendants doing a second line through the Quarter complete with a police escort and a jazz band to lead.

Allison’s Senior Session

Allison is an upcoming 2010 senior at Fountainbleu High School.  The other day we did the session at my studio in Mandeville as well as a few other on location areas I like.  We did some of Allison smiling, but I really liked her serious expressions.   I thought she did extremely well in front of the camera as you can clearly see.  Allison, amongst many other students in the area, are tired of the same old traditional photos that the school takes.  Thats where I come in.  Im running a special for 2010 seniors right now for a limited time this summer.  Before I forget, special thanks to Allison’s mom Linda for helping out with the session.

Jenny’s Bridal Session

Jenny got married a couple of years ago and decided to come to me and have a better-late-than-never bridal session.  She did not want any traditional images which was way ok by me!  Even though she had’nt worn the dress in about 2.5 years, it fit her perfectly!   An old sofa on the side of the road made for a perfect prop.  I loved the sofa image so much I ordered a 30×40 canvas to go on my studio wall.  Special thanks to Jenny’s sister Anna who made a great assistant.

Brigette and Jeremy Engagement Session

The other day I had the pleasure of photographing Brigette and Jeremy at City Park in New Orleans.  Brigette’s dog Callie came along to be included in the shoot  (as you can see in the photo below where she could’nt help but kissing Jeremy.)   Their wedding will take place on March 20th, 2010 at St. Anthony of Padua Church and then the reception following at the Pavillion of Two Sisters in City Park.  Special thanks to Brigettes mom for bringing Callie and for my daughter Madison who assisted me on the shoot.

Kasey and Austin’s Wedding

Kasey and Austin were married on April 18th, 2009.  The beautiful  ceremony took place at Christ Episcopal Church in Covington and the reception followed at Tchefuncte Country Club.  Rockin Dopsie, Jr. & The Zydeco Twisters entertained as well as the Mardi Gras Indians for a portion of the night.  I had the pleasure of working with videographers Christine and Melanie of Blink Video.  This wedding was a great blend of elegance and fun.  Everyone in the place seemed to get on the dance floor and celebrate.

Upcoming portrait special

This is an ad I’m running in Sophisticated Woman Magazine next month.  Since summer time is usually slower than usual, I’m waiving the on location session fee for in home family portraits (Mandeville/Covington area).  The special will run from June til August.  Pretty good deal!

AnneMarie and Billy’s Wedding

Anne Marie and Billy tied the knot on April 18th. The church was St. Janes in Abita and the reception was Benedicts in Mandeville. Although Anne Marie looked beautiful in her dress, she had some competition. Her pug Puddin also donned an elegant white dress.  As usual both bride and groom were very comfortable in front of the camera and we got some great shots.

Cari’s Bridal Session

The other day’s bridal session with Cari wasnt the usual.  She wanted something different and requested to have a cemetery as a backdrop for some of the photos.  I didnt realize that most New Orleans cemeteries close early so we had to sort of sneak in one particular cemetery.  Thankfully, noone saw us so we got some dynamite images that were out of the ordinary per the brides request.  Cari’s wedding will take place at Vintage Court on June 19, 2009.  The only reason I am posting these early is because Cari made her fiance Zac promise not to look at the website.

Elise and Jacob had their wedding on January 10, 2009.  Both the ceremony and reception took place at Tchefuncte Country Club in Covington.  It was a beautiful, intimate ceremony with a sit down dinner following.  Great looking couple, great looking wedding…makes my life easy!

Steve has an amazing talent and really captured the ambiance and romance of our wedding. My New Studio!

Ok, not to say theres anything wrong with my current location, which by the way I’ve been there since 1999, but my new studio  is going to be awesome!  Its located on Hwy 59 near 1088 intersection in Mandeville.  It will be nestled in a really nice brand new retail center which is currently still under construction but well on its way to being finished.  I am projecting sometime in the beginning of February 2009 when it should be ready to rock.

I just took a few shots today from the outside.  I will update with better shots as everything progresses.
